BSDA presented Active in Sport Again and the Erasmus+ program in Burgas
On May 19th, 2021, in the sports hall "Boycho Branzov", in the city of Burgas, a meeting with the sports clubs from the city was organized. During this meeting, the Bulgarian Sports Development Association presented the new aspects of the Erasmus + Sport program and examples of successfully implemented projects such as the Active in Sport Again initiative, with the kind support and hospitality of the Municipality of Burgas.
Active in Sport Again is an initiative co-funded by Erasmus + which aims to develop cooperation between former athletes, sports clubs and associations and local / national authorities. This project will stimulate a dialogue in order to provide future conditions for former athletes, which will enable them to participate in sports and leisure activities, thus increasing their chances for social interaction and improving their health. During the Active in Sport Again project, partners from Bulgaria, Croatia and Slovenia will promote the social inclusion of former elite athletes by organizing informal workshops and recreational sports activities to increase their capacity and encourage their reactivation in sports and everyday life. The project activities will be published in the Active in Sport Again Handbook, consisting of the best practices, presentations and recommendations of all participating experts, as well as the developed entertainment sports programs for former athletes.
